I have driven by this home, for many reasons, many times. And just like any other part of life, I was in different places in time when I passed, as was this home. I've photographed it on a summer afternoon while driving north to see a woman dying of cancer. I've photographed in the winter, the snow up to my thighs, well after my time in hospice. And recently, I've photographed again on my way to see another cancer patient, back in hospice.
I've been in some different places in different times of my life. And I've been in some places again, but not by mistake.
I drove 209 miles over two counties today, part of which took me past this house, under this sky. You can photograph the same person again and again, but something will always change.
People change. Circumstances change. Life will change, no matter what. This house is one good example of how to remain the same, while being completely different.
I can only imagine what this house has thought all these years, watching me come and go...
